Welcome!
RAMP, an intensive summer mathematics program, provides incoming MIT first-year students interested in mathematics an on-ramp to the math major.
Introduction
RAMP welcomes undergraduate students with a four-week summer program as an on-ramp to the MIT Department of Mathematics and the broader field of mathematics. We prepare them for success in the math major and help build a community that spans the full department, from undergraduate majors to graduate students to faculty and staff.
By taking courses on a variety of topics in mathematics, supported by peer mentors, students will be introduced to members of the department and have the chance to appreciate what people find exciting about various areas of mathematics. Classes will be offered in various formats—interactive lectures with problem sets, exploration-centered courses on unfamiliar topics, and seminar-style reading classes—so students can not only deepen their content knowledge, but also improve their skills in mathematical reading, writing, exploration, and collaboration.
